Nursing educators have long been aware of the need for accountability and assurance that students are competent care providers, however, these needs have only recently been expressed by the primary business education accrediting bodies - the NLNAC and CCNE. Although PASS-PORT was originally developed as an assessment and electronic portfolio management system for teacher preparation programs, this strong foundation has led to the development of unique features that provide sophisticated assessment and reporting techniques to nursing faculty and administrators.
